The Peopling of Canada: Atlantic Canada presents a more inclusive history of Atlantic Canada. Whereas most histories of the region begin with the arrival of Europeans, we begin our story with the accounts of First Peoples more than 10,000 years ago.The Peopling of Canada: Atlantic Canada is designed to provide a stimulating context for students to gain an understanding of all the cultural and racial groups of the region. This web site includes several sections selected from the more than 60 segments and dozens of teaching activities on The Peopling of Atlantic Canada CD ROM and Teachers Guide. The perspectives of The Peopling of Atlantic Canada embody all the curriculum outcomes and learning processes of the Atlantic Foundation's Social Studies Curriculum.
